CONRATULATIONS to our 3 teams who went and competed in Mesquite this last weekend. We had two teams in the Championship and our other team won 2 of there 3 games as well. Nice work boys!! Here are a few important updates...
As we wind things up this season... we have a few items of business we need to go over:
FINAL EQUIPMENT RETURNS - We are going to hold our final equipment returns THIS COMING MONDAY NIGHT the 24th. We are going to do the returns right at the storage unit. Our equipment is stored at Extra Space Storage. The address is: 2148 Stagecoach Dr. It's about 1 mile North of Walmart and on the East side of Redwood, just behind the Car Doctor. We did our original return like this a few weeks before and it went very well. This is the plan...We will have 3 teams left that need to return equipment that night plus a few others who were not able to make it to the original return night. We are going to start at 4:30. We are assigning each grade their own time to return as follows:
3rd Grade Coach Cooper – 4:30 – 5:00
5th Grade Coach Lee – 5:00 – 5:30
7th Grade Coach Babcock – 5:30 – 6:00
If you are in any other grade and have not returned your equipment, please come any time from 4:30 - 6:00.
As you pull up to the gate, we will have someone there to let you in. All you need to do is drive straight ahead until you have to take a left. Turn Left and follow it down to Unit #629. Please stay in your cars and just pull up one by one and we will take the equipment from you. (Kind of our own little drive up service.) We don’t want anyone parking and blocking other tenants from getting in their storage units.
When returning your helmets the following MUST BE DONE (or we will have you do it there):
Clean your helmets – INSIDE AND OUT. We had a lot of people say they used Magic Erasers and their helmets were by far the cleanest!!
Take all of the stickers off (EXCEPT THE LIGHTNING BOLTS)
Clean your football pants. Please don’t bring them back dirty.
Wipe your shoulder pads down
We don’t need your mouth pieces back. :)
If for some reason you are not able to attend your time slot, please let me know ASAP and we will try to arrange something for you. We appreciate you all making every effort to get this done this week though. We know how busy everyone gets as we move into the holidays. As a reminder, if we do not receive your equipment back by December 1st, we cash the $200 deposit check you gave us at equipment Hand-outs. Don't make us do that.
End of The Year Surveys – So far we have received some great feedback from many of you. A lot of it was very positive feedback and some of it was constructive. We appreciate all of it. We know that the only way to grow and become better is to look at both good and bad and learn from it. Here are the links to the two surveys:
Please take some time and complete the two surveys and let us know what you liked and what we still need to work on. I know in many cases, surveys are where a lot of negative comments and criticism comes out….I really want to encourage all of you who had great experiences to share those things with us as well. Also, it allows your survey to be anonymous but I encourage each of you to put your name in the spot it asks so that we can contact you if we think we need further clarification
SWAG – If you were not able to pick up your WYFL Swag… we will have more of the Hoodies, T-Shirts, Hats and Boys Short & Shirt Combo at the returns Tonight.
I think that’s it for now. Again…. Thank you!! We feel like this year was amazing. We were able to do some awesome things and a lot of it was a result of our great Leaders on the Board and a lot of great coaches. It’s a tough job, especially for a group of volunteers, sacrificing time and energy to support this program. I personally want to thank our Board Members for their hard work and resilience in moving the WYFL forward. And I also need to thank each of their spouses for allowing them to sacrifice time away from their families. We’ve accomplished a lot this year!!!!!
